"Art and love are the same thing: it’s the process of seeing yourself in things that are not you". Chuck Klosterman
"I believe much of life’s beauty is in the unique details and moments of everyday life that require our intention and gratitude to notice." ~ Brandi
Now calling New Westminster home, I was born in Victoria BC and lived all across Canada while growing up, providing me with a great appreciation for all of Canada’s natural spaces. As a nature & bird enthusiast, my inspiration comes from what I see around me every day; trees/flowers/birds/animals, as well as people, community and kindness.
After working for many years in business management, I decided to follow my passion and began my journey into the arts in 2018, and I’m now an avid advocate for following the dream that’s laying deep in ones heart!
I am a representational artist, generally working in realism as I find it perfectly suited to convey my intrigue in the details of texture, light and shadow. I specialize in the mediums of graphite, charcoal, pen & ink, and watercolor. Capturing both detail and emotion, my work focuses on nature inspired art, portraits and pet portraits, conveying both the universal and unique elements of expression, personality and mood.
I am also a drawing instructor, who encourages creativity in all life stages as a means of connecting more deeply with ourselves, others, and the world we live in. I believe we are all artists inside, we sometimes just need a little reminder of how to let that artist out.
Through my work I strive to observe, to see life slowly, and intentionally, and to express my gratitude for this moment in space that I get to occupy.
