When I was a child I could always be found drawing! And most often I would be drawing people or animals. I've always been captivated by faces, eyes, expressions, personality, mood. Through my work I strive to convey both the universal and unique elements of expression, personality, mood, and capture the unique bonds, expressions and love that connect us all.
All portraits are drawn free-hand using charcoal and graphite. Backgrounds can be added with pen&ink and watercolor as well if desired. House/cabin portraits are done with pen&ink and watercolor. The process is quite simple, all I need are a few photos and to have a small conversation about the personality of the person or pet.
